E-BIKES & E-SCOOTERS ON PATHWAYS

With kids heading back to school, a reminder that the pedestrian pathway speed limit is 20 km/h for everyone, including e-bikes, e-scooters and regular bikes.

Over the past month, City Peace Officers issued 210 speeding tickets on pathways and more than 780 warnings. Many riders are youth, so officers are focusing on education first.

This fall, the City is launching an awareness campaign for parents of kids aged 10 to 15. A review of the e-mobility bylaws is also underway, with recommendations coming to Council in early 2027.

Parents, a quick chat about pathway speed and sharing the path goes a long way.
