THE AIR MONITORING DATA IS IN

The Government of Alberta has released its preliminary summary of air monitoring for the ECCO fire, covering September 9 to 13. It was prepared by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas.

The monitoring found nine hourly exceedances of Alberta's guideline for fine particulate, all related to smoke. There were no exceedances for carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, ozone, or hydrogen sulphide.

Samples have also gone to a lab for analysis of more than 100 additional compounds. Those results are pending.

The Province notes this is preliminary raw data that has not gone through full quality review, and it does not include health risk interpretation. For health questions, call Health Link at 811.
