MCKENZIE TOWNE ROUNDABOUT UPDATE

Everyone in Ward 12 knows this roundabout, and I know you've been waiting all summer.

Earlier this year we were told construction would happen in 2026 including a temporary solution by the end of the summer. That's changed. The City has now confirmed the design and the timeline.

The two-lane roundabout is being converted to a "turbo" spiral design. It reduces confusion about which lane to use, hesitation near exits, and drivers cutting across each other when exiting. Traffic capacity stays the same.

I'm not thrilled it's taking this long and longer than what we were told.

- October 2026: temporary version installed to test the design
- October 2026 to May 2027: monitoring and community feedback
- Summer 2027: permanent build, alongside the planned repaving
