Council voted 9-6 to increase ward office budgets by 20 per cent. I voted no.

We're asking administration to find savings. I don't think we can ask that of them and not manage our own offices the same way.

Ward 12 is the largest ward in the city by population and one of the fastest growing. My team handles an enormous volume of constituent work and they do it exceptionally well. I understand other ward offices face a higher number of permit applications, but every ward has different challenges. It is important we have the resources to serve our constituents. In my view, our current budget is sufficient.

This still comes back for a final decision in November.
