Take My Ward 12 Budget Priorities Survey

Calgary City Council will be making major decisions about the City's 2027-2030 budget this November. Those decisions will affect your property taxes, utility bills, and the services you rely on.

The preliminary budget figures made public in September show just how much spending pressure the City is facing. One scenario includes double-digit property tax revenue increases in the first two years of the budget.

Based on previous Ward 12 feedback, my goal is a 0% property tax increase.

I believe Council needs to challenge spending requests, find savings, reduce unnecessary costs, and make City operations more efficient before asking Calgarians to pay more.

That's what I'll be working hard to achieve.

I also recognize that getting to 0% may be challenging. I won't promise an outcome before we've done the work. But I believe Council needs to exhaust every reasonable opportunity to find savings first.

That means taking a serious look at what the City spends money on, where we can operate more efficiently, and which services should come first.

Before Council makes these decisions, I want to hear from you.
